Onfolio’s Aggregator

I was just testing out Thunderbird as a news agregator, and was using scoble as a test feed when I came across his post about Onfolio 2.0 beta. Onfolio is a News Aggregator plugin for IE and firefox. Just what i’m looking for. Installed and looks extremely promising. So far I like it so I recommend you guys check it out.

Podcast of the day

A new feature I am doing: Podcast of the day! I will post what new podcast I listened to that I enjoyed.

Today is: Croncast. I encourage you to subscribe to the feed.. Hmm, interesting that his feed has a php extension.

Update: looks like the php extension is in my rss feed too, looks like it’s wordpress generating it. Never mind.

Information Management

I have finally reached Information Overload, I can not manage information manually anymore. I’m reading more blogs, listening to more podcasts, starting to blog more, working more, geez I feel spent. Time to get news a news aggregator going. I like Newsgator but not really a fan of outlook. I need to check out thunderbird. I’ve been using Firefox Live bookmarks but they just don’t cut it anymore. Fine for a few rss feeds but beyond that it is no good. Now if They could incorporate a full on news aggregator into Firefox, that would be sweet, but then it kind of defeats the purpose of Firefox being a small, light, and efficient web browser that is virtually spyware immune.

Also podcasts with iRiver H320 is not easily managed….yet. Thinking I may have to write a script myself to do it how I want. I feel I’m at the mercy of the shitty software that comes with iRiver. There is iRivium that is better but it is still not exactly what I’m looking for. I want flexibility, features, and usability. Is that so much to ask? I love my iRiver, but i’m a geek and I like playing with things, so the iRiver suits me, but i need easabilty of management which the iPod has down pat. Just doesn’t have the features that me being a geek/audio enthusiast wants/needs. Come on iRiver, get some better software engineers, we know you have some good hardware engineers!!! Maybe the folks over at Red Chair Software will step up to the plate and solve my problems with their iRivium software, which I have paid them $25 bucks for lifetime upgrades.

iRiver H320 recording

Tommorow I get to record my friends, the “Psychobilly Kadillaks“, for the first time with my iRiver H320. I will post some examples and use them in my next podcast as soon as I can. I’m looking forward to hearing the sound quality of the show from a recording from the sound board.

If anyone from chicago is reading, they are playing tommorow night at the Horseshoe Restaurant on Clark! Come check it out.

Just received my iRiver H320

Just received my iRiver H320 and I will be giving you guys some new podcasts via this device. Haven’t played with the recording features much as of yet, but from what I can tell the recordings are very high quality, which is nice 🙂

Hope your enjoying other peoples podcasts, while I’ve been in my hiatus. It’s been a month and I need to get back in the groove. Part of it has been busyness and part laziness and motivation.
