First Snow

Last night Chicago received it’s first snow of the season. This morning I broke out the snow blower to fire it up and see if it actually still worked. There is nothing worse than your snowblower not working the first snow day of the year. Luckily for me my snow blower fired right up on the first try.

If you have never been through a brutal Chicago winter, they can be quite miserable. It seems as though a dark grey cloud moves over Chicago starting in November and doesn’t dissipate until the end of March.  The only thing that seems to make these cold depressing days in Chicago better is the snow that we get. A lot of people seem to complain about the snow. I call bullshit. What’s a little in-convenience of having to drive a little slower or the extra chore of shoveling when you have the cold grayness beautified with a layer of the white fluffy stuff.  Plus look at the added benefits of making children and adults who still act like children (like me) happy.

Have you ever seen how happy a child is sledding down a hill or building a snowman?  Have you ever seen how excited I get when I see the first few flakes fall out of the sky?  No? If  you get a chance, do it, you will not be disappointed.  I wouldn’t trade the feeling I get when it snows for the world.  I LOVE SNOW!!!
