My name is Jeff O’Hara and I am a Linux & Network administrator for a large k-12 School District in the Chicago land Suburbs, but currently working on an education startup called Edmodo in my spare time.
I have been employed in the technology field since the fall of 1998. I am a huge advocate of Linux and open-source software and have been using these tools since 1997. I have single handedly designed & implemented open-source spam filtering, web content filtering, and various other network services for my employer which has over 16,000 users on our network.
This website has been the online playground of mine since 2001. It started out as a static website with a blog style news section (without any rss) and has evolved into the Blog that you see here today utilizing the widely popular open-source Wordpress blogging software.
My hobbies include Snowboarding, Guitar, New, Media, and of course technology. My latest hobby is Digital Photography and you can check out my photos on Flickr.
