Overpriced MP3 Stereo Connectors

Ever want a BMW just so you can hook your iPod up too it. What many of you may not know is that you may be able to add iPod connectivity directly to your car right now. If your stereo has a CD Changer input control directly from the factory you can buy a low cost Digital Auxiliary Input from PIE Electronics and have High quality audio from your mp3 to your car. No distortion or static that can be found in tape deck adapters or fm transistor’s. I have one of these and it may be the single best auto accessory I have ever bought.

(disclaimer: I have not been paid or approached by PIE electronics, their product just rocks)

Organize your Life

Ok, lately I have been in a funk and need way more organization. Too many documents, too many websites to read, too many podcasts to listen too. RSS is my answer to the saving time reading blogs/websites and podcasts, but what do I do to organize everything. Well I have heard about Microsoft’s OneNote application but never really new what it did or what it was for. I assumed it was some sort of note taking software. I just finally decided to demo the trial from microsoft’s website and had an epiphany the first 5 minutes of using the software, this could change they way I organize my entire life. I’m not a huge fan of Microsoft products, but I think Microsoft finally did something right with OneNote. Anybody that runs Windows should definately check this piece of software out, it’ll really change the way you organize everything. I will be asking my boss tommorow to buy me a licence. I work in education and an Educational License is $49 bucks, the regular license is $99 and even at that price point it is well worth every penny spent.

Online Music Collaboration Website

Found this on digg. There is a new website called MyVirtualBand. The basic premise of the website is for musicians to post a track and collaborate with other musicians to create a music by each musician laying down their own track and ending up with a fully mixed song. I can’t wait to here some good music to come out of this. Looks like there are some musicians already creating. Maybe a bit premature but a great podcast would be to document the creation of a song from conception to completion. Anybody want to take a stab at it?

Netflix Friends

I have a Netflix account and they just announced a new service called Netflix Friends, basically I can spam my friends with more crap they don’t need enticing them to join by being able to see what i’m currently viewing. I feel they screwed up and should have made this service more like a blog with a feed or script or something I could publish on my blog to show what movies i’m currently viewing. This would be free advertising for them as I would post a Netflix tab on my sidebar with current movies i’m viewing and have out and be able to share with my viewers some insight of what i’m about and what I like, what i’m currently viewing and what i have viewed. I think they missed the boat, kinda sad. I’m sure I could write php to do this for me, but I’m lazy and it doesn’t interest me that much to spend my time coding it. Come on Netflix, get on the boat with RSS, show Dave Winer you care 🙂 Boing!
